"El  agujero"

2D Animator

I worked in "El Agujero"  ("The hole") a shortfilm directed by Mexican illustrator Maribel Suarez and produced by Esteban Azuela.

 

We worked for a long time figuring out how to translate the 2D animation feel to the illustrations that Maribel works with.

​

I animated a couple of analogue traditional 2D animation tests but I ended up animating the whole short film digitally with TVPaint and afterwards Maribel did a beautiful render on top of the animations.   Here are some of the shots and tests I animated for the short film.
